finally, something to post

So, i've had this blog just sitting around for quite some time and rarely have the time/motivation/patience to post a new entry. Well, today was pretty groovy so i"ll share the mood with you.

I've had this programming job for a little over a year now. We do a lot of distributed stuff with CORBA and Java and I have learned a lot of really interesting things. My boss is cool and he put me on a project that involved porting our security software to a different CORBA ORB (in case you were wondering.) He assured me, last year, that this would be a "quick port" that shouldn't be too involved. Fastforward through about 8 months of coding and debugging and I saw a wonderfull thing today.....

"++TEST++:SUCCEEDED" was printed across my monitor when I got home from work and tried to see if Jonney (very smart guy that I have the privillege of working with) was right when he said that one of the tests ran.

Although this is only one of about 200 tests that I have to run on our software, it feels quite rewarding to see that very small message printed on my monitor.
